I author the research, design the experience, and ship the production code.

Ahmad Bilal, product design engineer & researcher. I'm Pakistan-based and work remotely with teams worldwide. Lead Researcher & Product Designer at Articos (an AI user-research platform). Previously Principal Product Designer at AutoLeap, and earlier Strategyn, Careem, and Ernst & Young.

What I do

I work at the seam of research, design, and engineering. As Lead Researcher & Product Designer at Articos, I authored the underlying research, designed the experience, wrote the production code, and set the initial positioning. I'm not the founder. The throughline across every role is the same. I turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into interfaces, and into evidence, that teams can trust.

Before Articos I was Principal Product Designer at AutoLeap, a $250M+ B2B SaaS for North-American auto-repair shops. Systematic research grew ACV +20% and lifted NPS +15 points. It also cut churn 23%. Earlier I designed Jobs-to-be-Done curriculum and research tools at Strategyn, rebuilt support tooling for 3,200+ agents at Careem (Uber), and advised on Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 at Ernst & Young. I hold a BS in Software Engineering from the University of Management and Technology. I build in React, TypeScript, and Python.

Purpose

To advance perspectives by bringing systems thinking and people to the centre of everything I do. I treat problems as opportunities and manage change toward a better system state.

Principles

TRANSPARENCY
Show the work and the evidence behind it. No black boxes.
INQUIRY
Start from questions, not assumptions. Let research lead.
CLARITY
Translate chaos into manageable order; make complex things legible.
OPTIMISM
Treat problems as opportunities; design toward a better state.
