Ahmad Bilal, Product Design Engineer & Researcher. I'm Pakistan-based and work remotely with teams worldwide. Lead Researcher & Product Designer at Articos (an AI user-research platform). Previously Principal Product Designer at AutoLeap, and earlier Strategyn, Careem, and Ernst & Young.
What I do
I do three jobs that are usually three people. I run the research, I design the product, and I write the code that ships.
At Articos I did all three. I wrote the research behind it, designed the experience, built the production code, and set the early positioning. I'm not the founder. That mix has been the same in every job I've had. Someone hands me a question nobody can answer yet, and I turn it into something people can use, plus the proof that it works.
Before that I was Principal Product Designer at AutoLeap. They sell shop software to auto-repair businesses across North America, and the company is worth over $250M. I led the design on five initiatives there. The average contract grew 20%. Customer loyalty rose 15 points on NPS. Churn fell 23%.
Earlier jobs, briefly. I built the Jobs-to-be-Done course and research tools at Strategyn. I rebuilt the support tools that 3,200 agents use at Careem, which Uber owns. I advised Ernst & Young on Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
I have a BS in Software Engineering from the University of Management and Technology. I write React, TypeScript, and Python.
Purpose
To leave a system better than I found it, and to be able to show my work. I start with the people the system is for. Then I change the system so it serves them, and I keep the receipts so anyone can check what I claim.
